WBBL 2026 squads and contracted players
Cricket Australia’s current WBBL|12 tracker lists 59 contracted players across the eight clubs, leaving 61 places open in the eventual 120-player competition roster. The team cards below show only confirmed 2026 contracts at the 17 August cutoff; they are not presented as final 15-player squads or proof of match appearance.

Are the full WBBL|12 squads available?
No. The current official tracker contains between six and eight contracted players per club, while the final WBBL squad size remains 15. These are confirmed roster foundations, not complete playing groups.
The eight cards reconcile the tracker against StumpScope’s team records and remove names that the same current source labels uncontracted. A player’s contract also does not establish captaincy, selection in a match XI or an appearance.

Current list versus final squad
How many WBBL|12 roster places are still open?
The published lists leave 61 of the 120 final squad places unfilled: Adelaide 7, Brisbane 8, Hobart 7, Melbourne Renegades 9, Melbourne Stars 8, Perth 8, Sydney Sixers 7 and Sydney Thunder 7.
Those vacancies should not be populated with WBBL|11 players simply because they represented the same club last season. An uncontracted label, replacement appearance or earlier overseas spell is not a current WBBL|12 contract.
Pre-signed players only
Which overseas players are already contracted for WBBL|12?
The current tracker identifies Laura Wolvaardt with Adelaide Strikers Women, Marizanne Kapp with Melbourne Stars Women and Amelia Kerr with Sydney Sixers Women as contracted overseas players. They count within their clubs’ current list totals.
Other overseas players from WBBL|11 are not carried into this page without a current contract. That includes names shown by Cricket Australia only as previous-season overseas players or as uncontracted options.
Leadership checked separately
Which WBBL|12 head coaches are confirmed?
The official tracker names Luke Williams for Adelaide, Mark Sorell for Brisbane, Jude Coleman for Hobart, Becky Grundy for Perth and Lisa Keightley for Sydney Thunder. Sydney Sixers appointed Peter Clarke on 23 July, and Melbourne Renegades appointed Gavan Twining on 14 August.
Melbourne Stars still had a WBBL head-coach vacancy in Cricket Australia’s latest relevant reporting. Andy Christie moved into an assistant role, so he is not shown as the current head coach.

Contract-first update rule
How will the WBBL 2026 squads be updated?
A player will be added after a current club or Cricket Australia record confirms the WBBL|12 contract. Draft selection, overseas pre-signing, replacement and captain labels will remain separate when the official wording distinguishes them.
Late injury or availability changes will update the affected team card and checked date without rewriting the original contract history. Match appearances will come from scorecards after the season starts, not from this roster tracker.
