WBBL 2026 points table and finals qualification

The WBBL|12 points table has no current-season rows because the competition begins on 29 October 2026. Eight teams will contest 40 league matches for four finals places; this page will display the official Cricket Australia standings after results begin rather than publishing a zero-filled table.

Pre-season standings status

Is the WBBL|12 points table live yet?

No. Cricket Australia’s current WBBL|12 series page lists the fixtures and eight teams but has no standings rows at the 17 August cutoff. The opening double-header is scheduled for 29 October at Junction Oval.

A blank current table is different from eight clubs being tied on zero points. StumpScope therefore withholds played, won, lost, points and net-run-rate columns until an official 2026 result creates a real standing.

Three-match finals series

How do teams qualify from the WBBL points table?

The top four after the 40-match league stage advance. Third place hosts fourth place in the Knockout on 1 December, and the winner travels to face the second-placed team in the Challenger on 3 December.

The Challenger winner reaches the Final against the first-placed team on 5 December. This route gives each of the top four a different path, so final table position determines more than qualification alone.

Table position sets the route

Why does first, second or third place matter in WBBL|12?

First place skips the Knockout and Challenger and hosts the Final. Second place also skips the Knockout, then hosts its winner in the Challenger. Third place receives the home Knockout against fourth.

The three finals venues remain TBC because the relevant league positions are not known. StumpScope will not assign a club, city or ground to a finals row before the completed table establishes that host.

Current season only

Does the WBBL|11 table carry into WBBL|12?

No. WBBL|12 starts as a separate competition record. Hobart Hurricanes Women’s previous-season title supplies historical context, but it does not give the club a 2026 win, point, rank or net run rate.

The published table will reflect WBBL|12 league matches only. Knockout, Challenger and Final outcomes decide the champion but do not become extra league-stage points rows.

Official standings boundary

How will the WBBL 2026 points table be updated?

After completed play begins, the visible table will use Cricket Australia’s current WBBL|12 standings snapshot. Played, wins, losses, ties or no-results, points and net run rate will move together from that official table rather than from partial score lines.

If the official source is temporarily unavailable, the last confirmed snapshot will remain dated and labelled instead of being replaced with zeros. Any correction to a result and its corresponding standing must be reconciled before the cutoff changes.
