Melbourne Stars Women Team: Squad, Results, Stats & Schedule

Melbourne Stars Women are one of the eight foundation Women's Big Bash League clubs. The Cricket Victoria-owned side is based at Junction Oval and is tracked separately from the men's Melbourne Stars.

Their best finish remains WBBL|06: the Stars led the regular-season table with an 8-3 record, then finished runners-up. WBBL|11 produced their second finals appearance and first since that 2020 campaign.

The Stars finished fourth in the WBBL|11 league stage with five wins, four losses, one no-result, 11 points and a +0.629 net run rate. Perth Scorchers ended the campaign by 28 runs in the Knockout.

Meg Lanning led the completed season with 479 runs and won the club player award after also taking the regular-season Golden Bat. Sophie Day took 16 wickets, while captain Annabel Sutherland contributed 174 runs and 11 wickets.

The seven names are the current WBBL|12 contracted core shown by the club and Cricket Australia. The older 16-name record combined the completed WBBL|11 squad with Maia Bouchier's later international-replacement spell.

A player appearing last season does not create a new-season contract. The final WBBL|12 list can expand, but only announced deals belong in the current squad cards and SportsTeam schema.

Not in the league stage. The Stars went 5–4 with one no-result across ten regular-season matches, earning 11 points and fourth place. The Knockout loss to Perth was an eleventh match, making the full campaign 5–5 with one no-result.

Mixing those scopes erases the no-result and makes the ladder record look wrong. League qualification and overall season totals should be stated separately.

Four completed matches used DLS-adjusted outcomes: wins over Perth Scorchers and Sydney Sixers, then losses to Hobart Hurricanes and Sydney Thunder. Their official margins must be retained because rain changed the chase length, target or par score.

The Adelaide opener was different: the chase stopped at 4.2 overs, before the minimum five overs needed for a result, so it remained a no-result rather than becoming a fifth DLS decision.

After seven league matches, the Stars had five wins, one loss and one no-result. They then lost the final three league games to Hobart, Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder, but the earlier points still secured fourth place.

Perth Scorchers extended the losing run to four in the Knockout. The sequence separates qualification from form: the Stars reached the finals because of their strong first seven matches, not because they finished the league stage strongly.

No. Five are Stars-designated home fixtures. The 28 November derby is also at Junction Oval but is designated as a Melbourne Renegades home match.

The Stars therefore play six times at their principal venue while holding only five home designations. The opening-night game against Hobart is also the first Stars fixture scheduled under Junction Oval's new permanent lights.
