Hobart Hurricanes Women Team: Squad, Results, Stats & Schedule

Hobart Hurricanes Women are Cricket Tasmania's Women's Big Bash League side and one of the competition's eight founding teams. They debuted in December 2015 and share the purple Hurricanes identity and Bellerive home with the men's club while retaining separate squads, fixtures and records.

WBBL|11 delivered the club's first women's Big Bash championship. Hobart led the league with seven wins, two losses, one no-result, 15 points and a +0.662 net run rate, earning direct passage to the home final before beating Perth Scorchers by eight wickets.

Danni Wyatt-Hodge led the title season with 432 runs and Heather Graham led with 16 wickets. Lizelle Lee made 77 in the final and was Player of the Final. The women's program also enters the 2026 T20 Spring Challenge as back-to-back 2024 and 2025 champion before starting its WBBL|12 title defence.

Ruth Johnston, Isabella Malgioglio and Lauren Smith were listed as uncontracted, while Danni Wyatt-Hodge, Nat Sciver-Brunt and Linsey Smith were identified as WBBL|11 overseas players. Those labels preserve their prior-season roles without claiming they will return.

The final WBBL squad size remains 15. Hobart still had seven places to resolve, so a historical club directory with 17 names cannot safely stand in for the future roster.

Hobart had not announced a WBBL|12 captain by 12 August 2026. Elyse Villani retired from the WBBL after leading the Hurricanes to their first title, so she remains the championship captain but not the current one.

Cricket Australia's current tracker confirms Jude Coleman as coach and lists Villani under outs, marked retired. It does not name a successor.

The two losses added nothing and the competition table had no bonus-point column. Net run rate of +0.662 ranked alongside the points total but did not create an extra point.

Hobart's final victory was an eleventh match and decided the title; it did not change the completed ten-match league table.

First place carried a direct route to the Final and hosting rights in WBBL|11. Hobart therefore bypassed both the Knockout and Challenger and waited at Ninja Stadium for the surviving finalist.

Third-placed Perth beat fourth-placed Melbourne Stars in the Knockout and then second-placed Sydney Sixers in the Challenger. That two-win route brought Perth to Hobart for the decider.

The advantage was larger than a simple home venue: Hobart avoided two elimination matches. They then chased 138 in 15 overs, with Lizelle Lee unbeaten on 77, to win by eight wickets.

Rain limited Hobart to 17 overs, and the DLS method set Melbourne Stars an adjusted target of 180. That made 179 the score required to tie, not Hobart's raw total of 176.

The Stars were all out for 98, which was 81 below the DLS par score of 179. The official margin was therefore 81 runs.

This is an edge case where subtracting the visible innings totals gives the wrong answer. The revised target belongs beside the score whenever a rain-adjusted chase is explained.
