SA20 Season 4 squads and captains

The SA20 Season 4 squad directory contains 119 names across the competition's six official 10 December 2025 roster records. Each card keeps replacement and temporary-replacement context visible; registration does not prove that a player appeared in a match.

Six official roster records

What is included in the SA20 Season 4 squad directory?

The six cards reproduce the official SA20 update published on 10 December 2025, shortly before the season began. The source contains 119 roster entries: three 19-name records, one 20-name record and two 21-name records where replacement timelines expanded the list.

The different card sizes do not mean SA20 allowed every listed player to be active simultaneously. Temporary replacements and players they covered can both appear in a dated registration history; each affected card explains that boundary.

Completed-season leadership

Who captained the six SA20 teams in Season 4?

Aiden Markram led Durban's Super Giants, Faf du Plessis led Joburg Super Kings, Rashid Khan led MI Cape Town, David Miller led Paarl Royals, Keshav Maharaj led Pretoria Capitals and Tristan Stubbs led Sunrisers Eastern Cape.

The 10 December squad article still displayed Durban's captain as TBC. StumpScope uses the completed-season leadership record for Markram rather than preserving that pre-season placeholder as if it remained unresolved.

Registration changes preserved

How are SA20 replacements shown on this page?

A permanent replacement occupies the updated roster slot: Kane Williamson replaced Taijul Islam for Durban, Matthew de Villiers replaced Brandon King for Joburg, and Thomas Kaber replaced Tabraiz Shamsi for MI Cape Town. The replaced names are explained in the notes but are not added to the 119-name snapshot.

Temporary cover is different. Joburg, Paarl and Pretoria records can contain both the registered player and a short-term replacement because the official update presents a timeline, not one simultaneous match-day list. The page retains that distinction instead of flattening every name into an unexplained final squad.

Season 4 only

Why are later SA20 roster changes excluded?

This directory is tied to the 2025–26 competition that ended on 25 January 2026. Later retentions, pre-signings, auction choices and captain changes for Season 5 belong to the next season and do not overwrite this historical squad record.

That boundary matters because current franchise directories can surface newer players beside older team pages. The six cards use an explicit Season 4 source rather than collecting whoever is attached to a franchise today.

Registration is not participation

Did every listed player appear in SA20 Season 4?

Not necessarily. A squad announcement confirms registration at its stated cutoff; it does not prove that every player made a playing XI or appeared in the tournament. Match participation must be established from an official scorecard.

Temporary replacements also make the 119-name total unsuitable as a count of simultaneous active players. Statistics on StumpScope use completed scorecards and the official season leaderboards rather than assigning appearances from these cards.
