Who topped the LPL 2026 points table?
Jaffna Kings finished first with 11 points from five wins, two losses and one no-result. They ended one point above Galle Gallants despite Galle's higher +0.604 net run rate because points determine position before NRR separates teams level on points.
Colombo Kaps placed third with eight points and Kandy Royals fourth with six. Dambulla Sixers finished one point behind Kandy, so their slightly better NRR did not move them into the playoffs.

| 4 | Kandy Royals | 8 | 3 | 5 | 0 | 0 | -0.567 | 6 |

Five wins plus one no-result
How did Jaffna Kings reach 11 points?
Jaffna earned ten points from five wins and one point from the 2 August no-result against Dambulla Sixers. Their other two league matches were defeats, producing a complete 5–2–1 record across eight games.
The official LPL homepage correctly shows eight played, five wins and 11 points but its compact row currently labels three losses and zero no-results. The result ledger on the same competition page records the Dambulla match as called off, so the rendered table preserves two losses and one no-result rather than repeating an internally inconsistent split.
Top four advanced
How did the LPL 2026 table decide the playoffs?
First-placed Jaffna and second-placed Galle entered Qualifier 1, whose winner advanced directly to the Final. Third-placed Colombo and fourth-placed Kandy entered the Eliminator, where one defeat ended Kandy's season.
Jaffna won Qualifier 1, while Colombo won the Eliminator. Galle then beat Colombo in Qualifier 2 to claim the second Final place; those knockout results changed progression but not the league table.
| Position | Team | Points | Playoff entry |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Jaffna Kings | 11 | Qualifier 1 |
| 2 | Galle Gallants | 10 | Qualifier 1 |
| 3 | Colombo Kaps | 8 | Eliminator |
| 4 | Kandy Royals | 6 | Eliminator |
Points before net run rate
Why did Galle and Dambulla not move up on NRR?
Galle's +0.604 NRR was the best in the table, but their 10 points left them behind Jaffna on 11. NRR was not needed to separate those two positions because the points totals were different.
Dambulla's −0.565 NRR was narrowly better than Kandy's −0.567, but Dambulla had five points and Kandy had six. Net run rate would separate equal points totals; it does not replace the points order.
| Comparison | Higher NRR | Points difference | Final order |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jaffna vs Galle | Galle +0.604 | Jaffna 11–10 | Jaffna above Galle |
| Kandy vs Dambulla | Dambulla −0.565 | Kandy 6–5 | Kandy above Dambulla |
League position is not the title result
Did Galle's championship change the final points table?
No. Galle won the championship after finishing second in the league table. Their Qualifier 2 and Final wins decided the title but did not add played matches, wins or points to the standings.
Jaffna therefore remain the 2026 league-stage leaders, while Galle are the 2026 champions. Keeping those labels separate preserves both parts of the season record without treating the Final as a ninth league match.

What does the LPL 2026 table include?
The table covers the 20-match double round robin completed on 2 August. Each team played eight matches; the no-result awarded one point to Jaffna and Dambulla, and the NRR values reproduce the official final snapshot rather than a partial independent calculation.
Qualifier 1, the Eliminator, Qualifier 2 and the Final sit outside this table. Later squad moves, another LPL edition or a revised historical scorecard do not change these positions unless the competition issues a standings correction.
