Duleep Trophy 2026/27 squads and captains
BCCI published 15-player squads for all six Duleep Trophy 2026/27 zonal teams on 11 August. The lists below preserve the official captain, vice-captain and wicketkeeper labels while keeping selection separate from a later playing-XI appearance.
Official selections
Who captains the six Duleep Trophy teams?
Rajat Patidar captains Central Zone, Ishan Kishan leads East Zone, Kanhaiya Wadhawan leads North Zone and Jonathan Rongsen captains North East Zone. Tilak Varma leads South Zone and Ruturaj Gaikwad captains West Zone.
Each published squad contains 15 players. A squad place confirms selection for the competition group, but it does not by itself confirm a playing-XI appearance.

Published selection roles
What do the squad role labels confirm?
Captain and vice-captain labels identify the leadership roles attached to BCCI’s 11 August selection. A wicketkeeper label identifies the players marked for that role in the release; it does not guarantee who will keep wicket in a particular match.
Players without a role label remain official squad members. StumpScope does not infer a specialist batting or bowling role from name order, previous teams or unrelated career records.
Bracket entry
When each zonal team enters the tournament
East Zone, North East Zone, North Zone and West Zone begin in the quarter-finals on 23 August. Central Zone and South Zone enter directly in the semi-finals on 30 August.
The published squads cover the full competition, while playing elevens require match-specific confirmation once the tournament begins.
Replacement boundary
How will a Duleep Trophy squad change be recorded?
The six lists show the BCCI selection available at the 16 August cutoff. A withdrawal, replacement or leadership change will update the affected team only after a current BCCI announcement or match record confirms it.
A replacement will be labelled as a later change rather than silently rewritten into the original 11 August selection. This preserves which players were initially named and which change applied before or during the tournament.
