Team overview
St Kitts & Nevis Patriots at a glance
St Kitts & Nevis Patriots is a men's Twenty20 franchise representing Saint Kitts and Nevis in the Caribbean Premier League. It joined the competition in 2015, reached its first final in 2017 and won its first title at Warner Park in 2021.
The official franchise directory identifies Winning Willows Ltd as owner, Mahesh Ramani as owner, Adhishwar as director of cricket and Malolan Rangarajan as head coach. Jason Holder, appointed captain in 2025, leads the 2026 roster.
The Patriots followed a 19-run D/L opening defeat with a five-wicket win at Saint Lucia, then lost by 51 runs to Jamaica and by three wickets to Antigua. Kevin Wickham leads with 96 runs across four matches, while Jason Holder has seven wickets and the team sits seventh at 1–3.
Result-method boundary
Was the Patriots' opening D/L defeat based on the raw scores alone?
No. St Kitts made 109/9 from 20 overs, while TKR were 94/2 after 15 when rain stopped play. The official result was a 19-run D/L win for TKR, not a simple comparison of 109 and 94.
A rain-adjusted result uses the competition's target calculation for the shortened chase. Calling the Patriots 15-run winners because their raw total was higher would reverse the official outcome.
The page keeps the D/L label beside the score because the method is essential context, not optional fine print.
Chase turnaround
What did the Patriots' two defeats after the Saint Lucia win expose?
The Jamaica loss exposed a failed chase: the Kingsmen made 181/6 and bowled St Kitts out for 130 in 18 overs despite Kevin Wickham's 37. Two days later, the Patriots improved to 187/6 against Antigua but could not defend it.
Dasun Shanaka's unbeaten 49 from 17 balls supplied the late acceleration in Antigua. The Falcons still reached 191/7 in 19 overs, even after Jason Holder and Kyle Mayers took two wickets each.
The two defeats came through different routes—one batting collapse and one unsuccessful defence—so the 1–3 record cannot be reduced to a single recurring weakness.
Myth versus reality
Did the Patriots inherit the Antigua Hawksbills record when they joined in 2015?
No. St Kitts & Nevis Patriots began as their own CPL franchise in 2015. The earlier Antigua Hawksbills record is not added to the Patriots' seasons, titles or player totals.
The Patriots' first final came in 2017 and their first championship in 2021. Those milestones remain sufficient without borrowing another identity's history.
A change in the competition's franchise map does not automatically create sporting succession. Team identity and record continuity need explicit evidence.
Captain's role
Why does Jason Holder lead the wickets but not the runs?
Holder has seven wickets through four matches but 41 runs. Kevin Wickham leads the batting with 96.
Captaincy and all-round status do not require one player to lead every category. Holder's clearest early impact is his wicket return, including 3/20 in the win and two wickets against Antigua.
The page therefore uses separate batting, bowling and all-round cards instead of manufacturing a single 'best player' claim from unlike measures.
Venue sequencing
Why are the Patriots 1–3 without playing at Warner Park?
Their first four matches were staged at Arnos Vale, Daren Sammy Cricket Ground, Sabina Park and Sir Vivian Richards Stadium. The four-match Warner Park home run does not begin until 27 August.
Representing St Kitts and Nevis does not make every early fixture a home game. Schedule blocks move franchises between Caribbean venues before their named home legs.
The distinction matters when assessing home form: the current 1–3 record contains no Warner Park result, so it is not evidence of the team's 2026 home record.
