Gujarat Giants WPL 2026 Squad, Results & Stats

Gujarat Giants are the Ahmedabad-based Women's Premier League franchise owned by Adani Sportsline. They have competed in every WPL season since the league began in 2023 and are part of the wider Gujarat Giants multi-sport identity.

The Giants produced their best league-stage finish in 2026: second with five wins, three losses, ten points and a -0.168 net run rate. Their first-ever win over Mumbai Indians secured a second successive playoff appearance, but Delhi Capitals won the Eliminator by seven wickets.

Beth Mooney led the team with 258 runs, while captain Ashleigh Gardner scored 244 and Sophie Devine 243. Devine was the leading all-round contributor and top wicket-taker with 17 wickets; Rajeshwari Gayakwad followed with 11.

The WPL side is distinct from Adani Sportsline's Gujarat Giants teams in Pro Kabaddi and Ultimate Kho Kho, and from Gulf Giants in the UAE's ILT20. Their squads, schedules and records are not combined on this page.

Gujarat finished second after the eight-match league stage with five wins and ten points. In the WPL playoff structure, the league leader advances to the final while the second- and third-placed teams contest the Eliminator.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru therefore took the direct final place, while Gujarat met third-placed Delhi Capitals at BCA Stadium. Delhi's seven-wicket win ended Gujarat's campaign and sent Delhi to the final.

The Eliminator loss did not rewrite the league table. Gujarat remain the 2026 league runners-up with a 5–3 table record, while their complete season record becomes 5–4 across nine matches.

League position is decided first by points, not by whether net run rate is positive. Gujarat's five wins produced ten points, two more than Delhi, so their -0.168 NRR did not prevent a second-place finish.

The margin pattern explains the sign. Gujarat won four league games by between three and 11 runs plus one by 45 runs, but lost to Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 32 and 61 runs and also lost a chase to Mumbai Indians by seven wickets.

Net run rate reflects scoring rates across the league stage rather than simply subtracting losses from wins. A team can therefore win most matches, qualify comfortably and still finish below zero after heavy defeats.

Gujarat beat Delhi Capitals twice in the league stage, first by four runs in Navi Mumbai and then by three runs in Vadodara. Those victories supplied four league points but no advantage once the knockout began.

In the Eliminator, Gujarat made 168/7 before Delhi reached 169/3 in 15.4 overs. The seven-wicket result was a separate win-or-exit match, not a best-of-three series or a continuation of the league head-to-head.

The season series therefore reads two Gujarat league wins and one Delhi playoff win. The playoff result decided progression even though Gujarat led the overall head-to-head for that season.

Titas Sadhu was part of Gujarat's auction-built 2026 squad, but the WPL announced on 22 January that Jintimani Kalita had joined as her injury replacement. The current official franchise directory lists Kalita and no longer lists Sadhu.

That transaction keeps the final directory at 18 players; it does not create a 19-player simultaneous squad. The catalog follows the post-replacement official list and records the earlier auction group only as historical context.

An auction selection and a final season directory answer different questions. The first shows how the squad was assembled; the second is the safer source for the completed roster after approved replacements.

The evidence supports BCA Stadium as Gujarat's 2026 home-leg and playoff venue, not as an exclusive permanent home. The official team directory leaves its Home Venue field blank.

Gujarat played their first four league matches at DY Patil Stadium during the Navi Mumbai leg. Their next four league matches and the Eliminator were staged at BCA Stadium in Kotambi, Vadodara as the tournament moved cities.

Schedule labels can call a franchise the home team inside a centralised league without proving a permanent club ground. This page therefore preserves the exact 2026 venue pattern and avoids turning one season's leg into a lasting venue claim.
