Team overview

Brisbane Heat at a glance

Brisbane Heat are Queensland's men's Big Bash League team, owned and administered by Queensland Cricket. They have competed in every BBL season since the competition began in 2011/12; Brisbane Heat Women are the related WBBL side, but their squad and records are kept on a separate team page.

The Heat finished BBL|15 fifth with five wins and five losses, missing the finals after a last-round defeat to Sydney Sixers. Matt Renshaw led Brisbane with 324 runs and made the official Team of the Tournament, while Xavier Bartlett led the bowling with 15 wickets.

Brisbane won the men's championship in BBL|02 and again in BBL|13, and finished runners-up in BBL|12. BBL|16 brings a ten-match regular-season schedule and a new head coach: foundation Heat captain James Hopes was appointed for three years in June 2026.
