Adelaide Strikers Team: Squad, Results, Stats & Schedule

Adelaide Strikers are South Australia's men's Big Bash League team. The side began in BBL|01 in 2011/12 and won its first and so far only men's championship in BBL|07, beating Hobart Hurricanes in the final at Adelaide Oval.

The Strikers finished BBL|15 in sixth place with four wins and six losses. Liam Scott led the batting with 310 runs and added five wickets, while Lloyd Pope led the bowling with 15 wickets from ten matches.

BBL|16 starts with two away matches before the first Adelaide Oval game on 23 December 2026. Adelaide Strikers Women share the club identity and venue but are a separate WBBL team, so their squad, titles and statistics are not mixed into this men's record.

These are the ten players already contracted when the club published its BBL|16 fixture release on 13 July 2026. The same announcement said the remainder of the squad would be finalised in the coming months.

The list therefore establishes current contracts, not a finished playing group or a prediction of the starting XI. Overseas signings, draft selections and any later replacements must be added from dated official announcements.

This distinction also prevents BBL|15 names from being silently carried into a new season. The previous final squad had 18 players before in-season replacement changes; only the ten named contracts are presented here as current.

Adelaide finished 4–6 for eight points, two points behind fifth-placed Brisbane Heat and four behind the fourth-placed Melbourne Stars. With the top four advancing, the Strikers missed the finals by two wins rather than by a net-run-rate tiebreak.

Their -0.231 net run rate mattered only inside an equal-points comparison; no team level with Adelaide finished above them. The immediate cause of sixth place was the win total.

That scope matters because 'sixth' is a completed league-table position, while the BBL|16 pre-season page has no standings position yet.

The Strikers never won consecutive BBL|15 matches. Their sequence was win, two losses, win, loss, win, three losses and a final consolation win over Melbourne Renegades.

That stop-start pattern explains more than the aggregate alone: Adelaide entered 2026 at 2–2 but could not build a run, and the three-match losing stretch from 9 to 13 January ended the finals chance before the last game.

The eight-wicket closing win was still useful evidence for player and team form, but it did not turn a dead-rubber result into a playoff qualification.

No. Adelaide went 3–2 at Adelaide Oval and 1–4 away in BBL|15. The only away win came in the opening match against Sydney Sixers at the SCG.

At home, they beat Brisbane Heat, Sydney Thunder and Melbourne Renegades, while Melbourne Stars and Perth Scorchers won the other two fixtures. The split shows that the overall 4–6 record was driven mainly by results on the road.

BBL|16 again gives Adelaide five home and five away games, so the schedule balance is unchanged even though opponents and venues differ.

Not from the published contract record available at this check. Tim Paine was appointed for two years in August 2024, explicitly covering BBL|14 and BBL|15.

Cricket Australia's February 2026 season review still identified Paine as the BBL|15 coach, but neither that retrospective nor the July fixture release extends his term into BBL|16. No replacement or extension had been announced by 12 August 2026.

The page therefore preserves Paine as the completed-season coach and leaves the BBL|16 role unassigned. An old role label is not treated as proof of a new contract.
