Top four advanced

How did the IPL table decide the playoff places?

The top two teams, RCB and Gujarat Titans, entered Qualifier 1 with two possible routes to the Final. Third-placed Sunrisers Hyderabad and fourth-placed Rajasthan Royals entered the Eliminator, where one defeat ended a team’s season.

RCB won Qualifier 1 and advanced directly to the Final. Gujarat used the second-place safety net to beat Rajasthan in Qualifier 2, while the Royals had first eliminated Sunrisers. Those knockout results decided progression but did not add matches or points to this table.

Three teams on 18 points

Why did RCB finish above Gujarat and Sunrisers?

RCB, Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad all recorded nine wins and five losses. With points and wins level, the official table used net run rate to order the three teams.

RCB’s +0.783 NRR was the highest, followed by Gujarat’s +0.695 and Sunrisers’ +0.524. StumpScope reproduces those official values and does not recalculate them from selected innings or playoff scores.

Match 12 ended without a result

How did the KKR–Punjab no-result affect the table?

Rain stopped Kolkata Knight Riders versus Punjab Kings after KKR reached 25/2 in 3.4 overs. Punjab did not bat, the match had no result and both teams received one point under the competition rules.

That point left Punjab fifth on 15 points from seven wins, six losses and one no-result. Kolkata finished seventh on 13 points from six wins, seven losses and one no-result. The abandoned match is recorded in the NR column, not as a tie or a win.

Final league-stage record

Do playoff results change the IPL points table?

No. Each team’s table record stops after 14 league matches, and the completed league phase accounts for 70 matches in total. Qualifier 1, the Eliminator, Qualifier 2 and the Final sit outside the standings.

The four playoff results determine who advances and who wins the title. They do not change played, won, lost, no-result, net run rate or points in the final league table dated 24 May 2026.
