Yorkshire Team: Squad, Results, Stats & Schedule

Yorkshire County Cricket Club was founded in 1863 and represents the historic county in England's domestic system. The men's T20 team now competes simply as Yorkshire; older records may use the Yorkshire Vikings name.

Yorkshire won seven of 12 North Group matches in 2026, lost four and tied with Derbyshire at 215 apiece. Their 30 points secured second place and a home quarter-final at Headingley.

Somerset recovered from 82/8 to chase 162 in the quarter-final, winning by two wickets with one ball left. That ended Yorkshire's campaign at 13 matches: seven wins, five losses and one tie.

Adam Lyth led the batting with 473 runs at a strike rate of 177.82, including 131 not out against Leicestershire. Hassan Ali took a team-high 27 wickets at 13.07, while AJ Tye combined 153 lower-order runs at 188.89 with 21 wickets.

The same men's county squad also plays the County Championship and One-Day Cup. Yorkshire Women and the Headingley-based Hundred franchise SunRisers Leeds are separate teams with separate squads and results, so none of those records is merged here.

The roster is an all-format player pool rather than a Blast appearance list. After the completed short-term Richardson Championship stint is separated from current membership, scorecards show that 16 of the 34 ongoing entries represented Yorkshire in the completed 13-match T20 campaign.

That distinction matters for names such as Adil Rashid, Harry Brook, Kuldeep Yadav and Naveen-ul-Haq: roster membership does not by itself prove a 2026 Blast appearance. This page labels the 16 scorecard participants and keeps the other 18 as current all-format members.

Yorkshire were the strongest of the three group runners-up. Their 30 points placed them above Somerset and Surrey, who each finished second with 28, so the ECB seeding rules awarded Yorkshire the fourth and final home quarter-final seed.

The 2026 format did not automatically send every second-placed team away. The three group winners and best runner-up hosted; Yorkshire therefore hosted fifth seed Somerset at Headingley despite not winning the North Group.

Because it was a group-stage match. The 2026 ECB playing conditions awarded two points to each team for a group tie; Super Overs applied to tied quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final instead.

Yorkshire's recovery was unusual even before the points rule mattered. They were 95/5, later 172/8, and effectively one batter short because George Hill was kept from batting on medical advice; Matthew Revis finished 69 not out from 32 balls to reach 215/8 and secure the tie.

Craig Overton turned an almost-lost chase into a two-wicket win with a career-best 79 not out from 30 balls. Somerset needed 82 from the final 33 balls, then took 22 from the last over and reached 162/8 with one delivery left.

Yorkshire had defended through seam throughout the chase and did not bowl an over of spin. That does not prove spin would have changed the result, but it is the key tactical constraint when reviewing how an 82/8 position escaped: Overton controlled the closing matchup and struck three leg-side sixes in the final over.

Adam Lyth supplied high-tempo top-order volume, Hassan Ali led the wicket-taking, and AJ Tye added both late-order hitting and 21 wickets. Their jobs overlapped less than the headline totals suggest, which gave Yorkshire separate powerplay, wicket and lower-order solutions.

Lyth scored 473 runs at a 177.82 strike rate, Hassan took 27 wickets at 13.07, and Tye paired 153 runs at 188.89 with 21 wickets. The advanced reading is role coverage, not a single all-round ranking: Lyth set innings tempo, Hassan was the primary strike bowler, and Tye extended both the batting and bowling depth.
