Warwickshire Bears Team: Squad, Results, Stats & Schedule

Warwickshire County Cricket Club founded its Bears T20 identity in 2003. The side competed as Birmingham Bears from 2014 through 2025, winning the 2014 title, before restoring the Warwickshire Bears name for both men's and women's Blast teams in 2026.

The men's team lost its first five 2026 matches, then won six of the last seven. That recovery produced fourth place in the Central & West Group on net run rate, but only the top three qualified for the quarter-finals.

Beau Webster was the campaign's dominant batter: 578 runs in 12 innings at an average of 48.17 and strike rate 149.74, including 112 in the first win at Somerset. Usman Tariq led the bowlers with 16 wickets at 16.00 and economy 6.09.

The county's men's programme also plays the County Championship and One-Day Cup as Warwickshire. Those are the same club's other formats, but their fixtures and statistics are kept outside this T20 season ledger.

The 25-name record combines Warwickshire's 23-player men's directory with Blast signing Usman Tariq and George Garton, who appeared in the club's official Blast match squads. It is a documented season pool, not a claim that all 25 played.

Sixteen of those players appeared in at least one of the 12 group matches. Keeping registration and appearance status separate avoids turning a club directory into an invented playing record.

Warwickshire finished fourth in the Central & West Group. The 2026 format sent each group's top two through, plus the best two third-placed teams across the three groups, so fourth place could not qualify.

Net run rate only separated Warwickshire from Glamorgan and Worcestershire, who also had 24 points. It lifted the Bears to fourth within the group; it could not move them above third-placed Gloucestershire on 28 points.

The Bears lost their first five matches, then won six of the final seven. That run included home wins by 59, 76 and 30 runs, but the early deficit left no margin for the seven-wicket loss at Glamorgan.

The recovery shows why late form and final position answer different questions. Warwickshire were one of the group's strongest finishers, yet their complete 6-6 record remained four points short of third place.

Beau Webster supplied 578 runs in 12 innings and eight wickets, while Usman Tariq took 16 wickets in 11 matches at an economy of 6.09. The club reported Webster as the competition's leading run-scorer after the group stage and Tariq as the most economical bowler among players with at least ten wickets.

Their value came in different phases: Webster carried volume and tempo with the bat; Tariq controlled the middle overs and took nine of his wickets in the last four games. Combining them as generic 'overseas impact' would hide how each changed the side.

Warwickshire Bears and Birmingham Bears are two T20 names from the same county club and share one playing history; the Birmingham name ran from 2014 through 2025. Restoring Warwickshire Bears in 2026 did not create a new team or erase the 2014 title.

Birmingham Phoenix are different. Phoenix play in The Hundred with a separate squad and record, even though they share Edgbaston and Warwickshire took an ownership interest from 2026.
