Los Angeles Knight Riders Team: Squad, Results, Stats & Schedule

Los Angeles Knight Riders represent Greater Los Angeles in Major League Cricket and form part of the Knight Riders Group's global franchise network. Kolkata, Trinbago and Abu Dhabi are separate teams with separate records.

After missing the playoffs in each of their first three seasons, LAKR finished second in the 2026 league table with six wins, four losses, 12 points and NRR +0.245.

They beat table-topping San Francisco by seven runs in the Qualifier to reach their first final. LAKR then defended 164 against Washington Freedom by one run at Oakland Coliseum for the franchise's maiden title.

The championship record was 12 played, eight won and four lost. Sunil Narine took 3/13 and captain Jason Holder 3/31 in the final before Shadley van Schalkwyk defended the last over.

A widely published in-season list carried 17 names. LAKR's completed official directory and MLC team feed contain 19, with Fabian Allen and Rovman Powell included in the championship roster.

The 19-player figure describes registered squad membership, not match participation. Alex Hales, for example, remains in the official group despite recording no appearance, so removing every unused player would answer a different question.

LAKR won their final three league games and both knockouts. The five-match streak moved them from 3–4 to 6–4 and second place, then through San Francisco in the Qualifier and Washington in the final.

The finish was not simply a soft schedule: the last five wins included two over league-leading San Francisco and two over Washington. Three were decided by 11 runs or fewer, including the one-run final.

Both are correct when the stage is named. LAKR went 6–4 in the ten-match league phase and 2–0 in the playoffs, producing an 8–4 championship record.

The 12 points and +0.245 net run rate belong only to the league table. The Qualifier and final determine the champion and overall record but do not add table points.

No. Knight Riders Cricket Field at Fairplex became LAKR's first dedicated home and hosted three consecutive league matches from 1 to 4 July. The other seven league games were played at Grand Prairie or Oakland.

Both knockouts were also at Oakland Coliseum. Calling Pomona the franchise home is accurate; describing the 2026 campaign as a conventional home-and-away season would not be.

Sunil Narine took 3/13 and captain Jason Holder 3/31 as Washington finished 163/9. Shadley van Schalkwyk added two wickets and then delivered the final over with the result still alive until the last ball.

The defence followed a shared batting effort rather than one huge innings: Andre Fletcher made 47, Colin Munro 40 and Matthew Tromp 39 from 21 balls. LAKR were bowled out with two balls unused, yet those 164 runs proved exactly enough.
