Kathmandu Gorkhas at a glance
Kathmandu Gorkhas are a professional T20 franchise representing Nepal's capital and Bagmati Province. Kathmandu Sports Development Venture acquired the franchise for the inaugural 2024 Nepal Premier League.
The side competed as Kathmandu Gurkhas in 2024. Before Season 2, the franchise adopted the Kathmandu Gorkhas spelling and a Valley-inspired identity; CEO Suraj Singh Thakuri said the change was intended to reflect Nepali roots rather than the British spelling.
Karan KC remains the marquee captain and Monty Desai is the head coach. The public Season 3 roster contains 13 confirmed domestic players, with a talent-hunt place and overseas signings still to be completed.
Kathmandu improved from fifth in 2024 to third in the 2025 league stage. Five wins earned ten points and NRR +0.537, but eventual champions Lumbini Lions ended the campaign with a four-wicket Eliminator victory.
