Team overview
Jaffna Kings at a glance
The Jaffna franchise entered the inaugural Lanka Premier League as Jaffna Stallions and won the 2020 title. It became Jaffna Kings in 2021 and won again in 2021, 2022 and 2024, giving the same city franchise four championships in the competition's first five editions.
In 2026, Jaffna topped the league table with five wins, two losses, one no-result, 11 points and NRR +0.385. Kamil Mishara's 108 powered 242/2 in a 12-run Qualifier 1 win over Galle Gallants, but Galle reversed the result in the final by bowling Jaffna out for 123 and chasing the target with five wickets left.
The franchise agreement with Sports Commune was terminated during the season over unmet financial obligations. IPG and Sri Lanka Cricket assumed operational control on 23 July and stated that the name, squad and schedule would continue unchanged.
