Islamabad United Team: Squad, Results, Stats & Schedule

Islamabad United are one of the five original Pakistan Super League franchises. Leonine Global Sports has owned the team since the league's launch, and in November 2025 the ownership agreement was renewed for another ten years.

United won the inaugural 2016 title, became the first two-time champions in 2018 and added a third championship in 2024. They have reached the playoffs in ten of 11 seasons; 2020 remains the only campaign in which they did not qualify.

In HBL PSL 11, Islamabad finished second in the league phase with six wins, three losses, one abandonment, 13 points and NRR +1.667. Peshawar Zalmi beat them by 70 runs in the Qualifier, and Hyderabad Kingsmen then ended their season by two runs in Eliminator 2.

The February auction record was a roster snapshot, not the last word. Its Islamabad group included Max Bryant, Mohammad Wasim Jr and Shamar Joseph, but none appears in the competition's later 20-player registered-squad graphic.

The final list instead includes Chris Green, Salman Mirza, Nisar Ahmad, Mohammad Faiq and Mohsin Riaz. Green replaced injured Bryant, while Salman and Nisar arrived in the reported trade that sent Wasim Jr to Multan.

The public directory follows the later competition list. Where the available primary record does not state why a name changed, the page records the difference without inventing an injury, release or contract explanation.

Six league wins earned 12 points and the abandoned Peshawar Zalmi fixture added one: 6 × 2 + 1 = 13. The three league defeats added nothing.

No ball was bowled against Peshawar because rain left a wet outfield. The official table stores that match in its Abandoned column rather than its No Result column, but the practical outcome was one point for each team.

The Qualifier and Eliminator 2 came after the ten-match league table. Those two losses changed Islamabad's playoff outcome, not its 13-point league total.

Second place earned Islamabad the Qualifier's safety net, not a direct place in the final. The winner advanced immediately; the loser received one more chance in Eliminator 2.

Peshawar made 221/7 and beat United by 70 runs in the Qualifier. Islamabad then moved from Karachi to Lahore to face fourth-seeded Hyderabad, the winner of Eliminator 1.

The second chance narrowed the consequence of the first defeat but did not erase it. Hyderabad defended 186/5 by two runs, so United finished at Eliminator 2 after losing both playoff matches.

Sameer Minhas led Islamabad with 349 runs, but a team-leading total does not automatically create a place in the tournament's main XI. The selection compared candidates across all eight franchises and roles.

The jury named Sameer in the first HBL PSL Emerging Team of the Tournament. Shadab Khan and Richard Gleeson represented Islamabad in the main Team of the Tournament instead.

Shadab also received the best-all-rounder award after 173 runs and 17 wickets, while Gleeson's 12 wickets came at the best economy among pacers with at least ten wickets. These are three different recognitions, not a single ranking of Islamabad players.
