Gloucestershire 2026 Squad, Results & Blast Stats

Gloucestershire County Cricket Club are a member-governed registered society representing Bristol and the historic county. The constitution places the County Ground at Nevil Road at the centre of the club's playing, coaching and community work.

The men's side finished third in the 2026 Vitality Blast Central & West Group with seven wins, five losses, 28 points and a +0.288 net run rate. Their title defence continued into the quarter-finals, where Northamptonshire chased 153 in 17.4 overs to end Gloucestershire's campaign.

D'Arcy Short led the completed tournament with 446 Gloucestershire runs and also took 11 wickets. Captain Jack Taylor was second with 268 runs, Duan Jansen led the bowling with 16 wickets from seven matches and Marchant de Lange followed with 14.

Gloucestershire won their first English men's T20 title in 2024, beating Somerset by eight wickets in the final. The club also competes in the County Championship and One-Day Cup; those records are kept separate from this Blast page.

The 2026 format advanced the top two teams from each group plus the two best third-placed teams. Gloucestershire finished third in Central & West with 28 points, level with South Group third-place Essex and two points ahead of North Group third-place Lancashire.

That made Gloucestershire one of the two qualifying third-place teams. The playing conditions seed group winners first, second-place teams next and the two third-place qualifiers seventh and eighth, so third place could qualify but did not carry a home draw.

Gloucestershire therefore travelled to Central & West winner Northamptonshire. The quarter-final was part of the knockout bracket, not a 13th group match, and its defeat did not change the published 28-point table total.

The 2026 playing conditions award four points for a win, two for a tie or no result and none for a loss. Gloucestershire's seven group wins therefore equal the 28 points shown in the final ECB table.

The ECB's public format explainer says two points for a win, which conflicts with the binding competition document and the completed table. Applying that explainer literally would halve Gloucestershire's total to 14 and make the live table labels inconsistent.

This page follows the regulations and final table. The points scale does not include the quarter-final, where progression depended only on winning the knockout match.

Duan Jansen took all 16 wickets in six group appearances, including two four-wicket returns. He initially joined as cover after Liam Scott was called into Australia's one-day squad, then left the playing group when that spell ended.

Gloucestershire brought Jansen back for the quarter-final. He played at Northampton but took no wicket, which is why final summaries correctly show 16 wickets from seven matches rather than treating the return as a new season or adding another wicket total.

Jansen and Scott both belong in the 18-player campaign group because each appeared at a different point. Their inclusion does not mean every overseas player was available simultaneously.

Each county played the other five teams in its group home and away, creating ten fixtures. Two cross-group matches completed the 12-game schedule and still counted in the county's own group table.

Gloucestershire's cross-group fixtures were away to North Group side Yorkshire and home to South Group side Surrey. They won both: 217/6 at Headingley produced a 56-run victory, and 191/5 in Bristol set up a 57-run win over Surrey.

Those eight points were part of Gloucestershire's 28-point qualification total. Cross-group opponents did not create a separate mini-table or transfer the county into the North or South standings.

No. All six men's Blast home group matches were staged at the Bristol County Ground, currently branded Seat Unique Stadium. The quarter-final was away at Northampton.

Gloucestershire still use the Cheltenham Cricket Festival for other county fixtures, including the 2026 One-Day Cup programme. Calling Cheltenham a wider club venue is accurate, but treating it as a 2026 men's Blast home would mix formats.

The venue block therefore names Bristol as the T20 home for this season while retaining Cheltenham only as broader county context.
