Faisalabad 2026 Squad, Results & National T20 Stats

Faisalabad are a PCB regional men's side administered through the Regional Cricket Association Faisalabad. The regional structure covers Faisalabad and associated district cricket rather than a privately owned franchise, and the senior team also competes in Pakistan's red-ball pathway.

Faisalabad finished third in the five-team 2025/26 National T20 Group A with two wins, two losses, four points and a +0.075 net run rate. They recovered from defeats to Karachi Whites and Lahore Whites by beating Bahawalpur and Peshawar, but Lahore Whites advanced in second place with five points after a rain abandonment.

Atiq-ur-Rehman led the batting with 185 runs, including 94 against Bahawalpur and 72 against Peshawar. Guest quick Afaq Afridi took six wickets in two matches, Zaman Khan followed with five, and Mubasir Khan contributed 60 runs and three wickets across all four games.

PCB named 15 players in Faisalabad's main National T20 squad and placed five more in a reserve list. Shehzad Gul was one of those reserves, but the completed scorecards show him in the XIs against Bahawalpur and Peshawar.

That makes 16 documented season participants: the announced 15 plus one reserve who actually played. The four unused reserves stay outside the squad grid because reserve status alone does not prove selection or an appearance.

The labels inside the original 15 also have a specific scope. Afaq Afridi, Mubasir Khan and Zaman Khan were marked as Guest players; Daniyal Ali Khan, Faham-ul-Haq, Mohammad Zeeshan and Momin Qamar were marked U21. Those are PCB roster designations, not separate teams or extra appearances.

Both sides won two matches. The difference was Lahore's rain no-result against Karachi Whites, which added one point; Faisalabad had no abandoned fixture and finished with two wins and two losses.

The published net run rates—Lahore +0.674 and Faisalabad +0.075—describe their group records, but did not decide second place. Saying Faisalabad missed out on NRR would turn a visible table statistic into the wrong qualification explanation.

The recovery came through two different match patterns. Atiq-ur-Rehman made 94 as Faisalabad chased 159 against Bahawalpur, then 72 as they defended 170 against Peshawar.

Afaq Afridi played only those final two matches and took six wickets, including 4/38 against Peshawar. Reserve seamer Shehzad Gul also entered both winning XIs and returned 3/21 in the closing victory.

Atiq scored 166 of his season-leading 185 runs in the two wins—nearly 90% of his tournament total. Faisalabad's late surge was therefore real, but it arrived after the two opening defeats had left no margin for Lahore's extra rain point.

Faisalabad represent their Punjab region and retain Iqbal Stadium as their established city venue, but the 2025/26 National T20 was a centralized tournament. PCB scheduled all 23 matches at Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar.

Faisalabad therefore played all four Group A matches away from their represented home city. The venue column records where the matches actually happened; it does not redefine the team's regional base.

This also explains the apparent change from 2024/25, when Iqbal Stadium staged Faisalabad's home leg and quarter-final. Tournament hosting changed between seasons, while the team identity did not.

They belong to the same Faisalabad domestic-cricket lineage, but the names describe different competition eras. Faisalabad Wolves won the inaugural national T20 title in April 2005; the current side competes as Faisalabad Region under the restored regional structure.

The 2005 title remains valid historical context because PCB's own National T20 history attributes that championship to Faisalabad Wolves. It should not be presented as a title won under the exact current display name.

Current-season squad and leader cards use only the 2025/26 Region record. Historical Wolves statistics are not merged into Atiq-ur-Rehman, Afaq Afridi or the present four-match totals.
