Team overview
Edinburgh Castle Rockers at a glance
Edinburgh Castle Rockers are one of six men's franchises in the inaugural European T20 Premier League. A New Zealand-based ownership consortium led by Kyle Mills and Nathan McCullum works with Otago Cricket and the Scottish franchise.
Mitchell Santner is the inaugural captain, and the current team page also confirms Trent Boult. ETPL had not announced an Edinburgh head coach by the 16 August cutoff, so ownership and playing experience are not converted into a coaching appointment.
The six draft selections include four Scotland players and two Ireland players. Charlie Tear supplies wicketkeeping, Ross Adair and Finlay McCreath add batting, while Gareth Delany, Jack Jarvis and Safyaan Sharif provide multi-skill options.
Edinburgh open with an all-Scottish matchup against Glasgow Cosmic at VCC on 27 August. They play six times in Voorburg and four times in Malahide, facing every other franchise twice.
Leadership boundary
Are Kyle Mills or Nathan McCullum coaching Edinburgh?
ETPL identifies Kyle Mills and Nathan McCullum as leaders of the ownership consortium. It had not named either man as Edinburgh's head coach by 16 August.
The official team and about pages describe the consortium's international, operational and development experience and its collaboration with Otago Cricket. That establishes the franchise structure, not a season-specific coaching job.
Mitchell Santner's role is also clear: he is captain. The page keeps ownership, captaincy and coaching separate until an appointment is published.
Roster status
Why are only eight Edinburgh players shown?
ETPL confirms Santner and Boult, while the published draft record adds six players. The official team page has not released the complete 17-player squad.
The draft group is Delany, Adair, Jarvis, Tear, Sharif and McCreath. Four are affiliated with Scotland and two with Ireland.
Other reported squad lists contain additional names, but the league's current team directory still says coming soon. The page will expand when ETPL or the franchise publishes the remaining roster state.
Selection rules
How do ETPL roster rules affect Edinburgh's XI?
The 17-player roster and the match XI have different constraints. Every XI needs at least five local players and can use no more than four overseas players.
Full squads must carry five to seven overseas players, at least eight local players, at least two affiliated local players and both European and global Associate representation.
Santner and Boult supply the confirmed New Zealand core, while four Scottish draft picks strengthen the local side. The unpublished roster and matchday availability still prevent a reliable first-XI prediction.
Venue reality
Why do Edinburgh Castle Rockers have no match in Scotland?
ETPL Season One uses two centralized host grounds: VCC in Voorburg and Malahide Cricket Club Ground in Ireland.
Edinburgh play their first six league fixtures in Voorburg and their last four in Malahide. The schedule includes no Scottish venue despite the franchise representing Edinburgh.
The opening match against Glasgow is an all-Scottish franchise contest, but it is staged in the Netherlands. Team identity and match location must therefore remain separate.
Myth versus reality
Does an Edinburgh squad listing prove a match appearance?
No. A pre-signing or draft pick confirms selection status; only a completed scorecard establishes an Edinburgh appearance.
No ETPL match had been played by the 16 August research cutoff. Edinburgh therefore have no team result, points total, net run rate, run leader or wicket leader.
Withdrawals, replacements and playing-XI choices may still change. Those states require a dated announcement or final match record rather than inference from the roster.
Ten league fixtures confirmed
No Edinburgh result or points-table row exists before the first match. First place advances directly to the final; second and third contest the qualifier.

No completed Edinburgh Castle Rockers result yet

Two pre-signings plus six draft picks
Eight confirmed Edinburgh Castle Rockers selections
The current ETPL team page confirms Mitchell Santner and Trent Boult. The player draft added Gareth Delany, Ross Adair, Jack Jarvis, Charlie Tear, Safyaan Sharif and Finlay McCreath. ETPL still labels the complete squad as coming soon, so these eight names are confirmed selections rather than a final 17-player roster or an appearance list.
