Durham 2026 Squad, Results & Vitality Blast Stats

Durham are the men's professional side operated by Durham Cricket C.I.C., a community interest company based at Chester-le-Street. The county competes in the Vitality Blast as Durham, alongside separate County Championship and One-Day Cup programmes; the women's team's record is not combined on this page.

Durham finished fourth in the six-team 2026 North Group with five wins, seven losses, 20 points and a +0.462 net run rate. The top two in each group plus the two best third-placed teams advanced, so fourth place left Durham outside the quarter-finals after consecutive appearances in 2024 and 2025.

Captain Alex Lees led Durham with 473 runs and struck a career-best 108 in the club's record 100-run T20 win over Middlesex. Matthew Potts took a team-high 19 wickets, while Ben Raine combined 50 runs with 17 wickets and finished the campaign with 4/21 at Old Trafford.

Points decide table position before net run rate. Durham's five wins produced 20 points under the binding four-point system, fewer than Lancashire's 26, Yorkshire's 30 and Notts Outlaws' 32, so +0.462 NRR could not lift them above those teams.

The positive figure was helped by a 100-run win over Middlesex and several competitive defeats. NRR measures scoring rates and margins; it does not award extra table points or cancel a 5–7 win-loss record.

Qualification was not limited to the top two: the best two third-placed sides also advanced. Durham were fourth, while the two qualifying third-place teams, Gloucestershire and Essex, each finished on 28 points.

The 2026 playing conditions award four points for a win, two for a tie or no result and none for a loss. Durham's five wins therefore equal the 20 points shown in the final ECB table.

An ECB public format explainer says two points for a win, but that conflicts with the binding conditions and completed table. Applying that line would give Durham ten points and make every final group total inconsistent.

The 2026 schedule contained ten home-and-away matches against the other five North teams plus two cross-group fixtures. Those outside opponents still contributed to Durham's North Group points and statistics.

Durham hosted Central & West side Northamptonshire and lost by seven runs, then travelled to South Group side Middlesex at Old Deer Park and won by a club-record 100 runs. The split was therefore one cross-group win and one loss.

Middlesex's venue in Richmond was an away ground, not a Durham home. The result remains part of Durham's North table without moving either county into the other's group.

Yes. Rain reduced the 9 June match at Banks Homes Riverside to ten overs per side, but both teams completed the revised contest. Durham made 128/2 and Lancashire chased 130 in 9.1 overs, so it is an official seven-wicket loss rather than a no-result.

The shorter match still contributes one appearance and its runs and wickets to season aggregates. Bowlers had a two-over maximum and the powerplay lasted three overs, so its tactical conditions were not identical to a 20-over game.

Calling every row a '20-over match' would therefore be inaccurate. The result table preserves the ten-over label while the season total correctly remains 12 completed matches.

The 17 names are the union of official match-squad announcements across the campaign. Fifteen appeared in a playing XI; Shafiqullah Ghafari and Haydon Mustard were selected in official squads but did not make a documented Blast XI.

That is a selection record, not Durham's entire multi-format contract list. It also excludes the separate women's squad, whose fixtures and statistics belong to a different competition record.
