Belfast Wolves 2026 Squad & Fixtures

Belfast Wolves are one of six men's franchises in the inaugural European T20 Premier League. The current competition directory uses Belfast Wolves; early ETPL announcements called the same Belfast franchise Irish Wolves.

Glenn Maxwell is captain, player and co-owner through the Floodlight Capital Consortium. ETPL also names Rohan Lund in the ownership group, but it had not published a Belfast head coach by the 16 August cutoff.

The six draft selections give Belfast three Ireland players, two Netherlands players and one Scotland player. Paul Stirling and Tim Tector strengthen the batting group, while Fred Klaassen, Matthew Humphreys and Zainullah Ihsan provide different bowling options and Alexander Roy adds an all-round role.

Belfast open against Dublin Guardians at VCC on 27 August. Their ten-match league schedule is split evenly between Voorburg and Malahide, with each of the other five franchises faced twice.

Yes in the ETPL context: early league releases used Irish Wolves for the Belfast franchise, while the current team directory and match schedule use Belfast Wolves.

This page follows the current Belfast Wolves name and treats Irish Wolves only as the franchise's earlier published label. It does not import records from Cricket Ireland's separate Ireland Wolves development side.

That distinction matters before the inaugural season. Belfast Wolves have no historical ETPL results, and matches played by Ireland Wolves do not become franchise history.

ETPL currently confirms seven selections, but its Dublin team page has not published the complete 17-player roster.

Maxwell was the pre-signed captain. The draft then added Humphreys, Klaassen, Tector, Stirling, Ihsan and Roy in six rounds.

A competition rule describes 17-player squads, but that number is a roster requirement rather than permission to fill ten missing names from third-party lists. The page will expand only when the league or club publishes them.

A confirmed squad place does not guarantee a place in the XI. ETPL says each XI must contain at least five local players and no more than four overseas players.

The full 17-player squad must include five to seven overseas players, at least eight local players, at least two affiliated local players and both European and global Associate representation.

Those constraints make the unpublished part of Belfast's roster important. Seven confirmed names reveal the draft core, but they are not enough to predict the first XI or its final balance.

ETPL Season One is staged at two shared grounds: VCC in Voorburg and Malahide Cricket Club Ground in Ireland.

Belfast have five league fixtures in each host leg. Their city name represents the franchise identity, not a promise that the inaugural schedule includes a Belfast venue.

The fixture list still uses home and away ordering. On this page those labels describe the matchup order only, because both legs are centralized.

No. A signing or draft pick confirms selection status; only a completed match record establishes an appearance for Belfast Wolves.

No ETPL match had been played by the 16 August research cutoff. Belfast therefore have no team run leader, wicket leader, points total, net run rate or completed result.

Availability, replacements and matchday selections can still change. Those states must come from a dated first-party update or final scorecard, not from the squad announcement alone.
